Dewey Hardee

Dewey Junior Hardee, age 66 of Laurel Hill passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

Funeral services were held. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Pastor Ed Pilarczyk. Burial with military honors followed in Hillside Memorial Park.

Dewey was born November 12, 1946 in Columbus County, son of the late Charlie A. and Dollie Jane Hardee. He was a Vietnam Veteran with the United States Air Force and retired after 25 years of military service. He then worked with the Laurinburg Housing Authority retiring after 10 years of service. Dewey was an avid NASCAR racing fan, enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Hardee and his brother, Talmadge Hardee.

Dewey is survived by his longtime companion, Sandra Britt  and children:

Angela Cox and her husband Christopher of Laurel Hill,  Miranda Butler and her husband Jonathan of Laurinburg,  Brionna Blackman of the home; a brother, Jesse Hardee and his wife Joyce of Laurinburg; sister, Faye Hardee Mulligan of Laurel Hill;  grandchildren: Payson, Madison and Jackson; and special nephews: Keith Hardee and Mike Mulligan and a host of family and friends.
