On January 27, 2021, at the age of 74, Daniel Hector McMillan of Salem, South Carolina passed away. His sister stated that the cause was COVID and related issues.

The Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Lincolnton City Cemetery with Pastor John Belangia officiating.

Dan McMillan was the son of the late Daniel "Hector" and Lucy Gold McMillan of Laurinburg, NC.  Dan served his country with honor in the United States Army and was stationed in Turkey; after leaving the U.S.Army Dan entered business and was a sales representative for Nutrien Ag Solutions.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Peggy Pennington McMillan; his sister: Sally Adams of Cary,NC; his brother William McMillan of Apex,NC;  his sons: Jeff McMillan (wife, Allison) of Fountain Inn, SC, Mark McMillan of Marshall, NC and Don Pennington (wife, Cheryln) of Lincolnton, GA; five grandchildren: Josh, Holly, Nolan, Chase and Rex and great grandson, Jameson.
