LAURINBURG — Charles Edward Taylor, 70, of Laurinburg passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017.

Charles was born October 3, 1946 in Marlboro County, S.C., son of the late Roland and Beulah Grooms Taylor. He was a Veteran who proudly served with the United States Navy. He retired after many years of service from the Eaton Corporation.

Charles was a faithful member of Fletcher Chapel Wesleyan Church where he served the Lord faithfully as a Trustee and Board Member for many years. He enjoyed working in his yard, singing and sharing his faith with any and every one. He also enjoyed playing golf. In his last few years, his favorite times were spent at home with Papa's girl.

In addition to his loving parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Taylor, Jr.

Charles leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Terena Caulder Taylor of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Odom of the home and Anita Ammons Taylor of Rutherfordton; step-son John Scott Ammons of Lumberton; brothers, Larry Mack Taylor and wife Linda of Hamlet; William "Bill" Taylor and wife Ann of Gibson; his granddaughters, Meadow Rayne Jones of the home, Elizabeth Paige Taylor of Rutherfordton; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Hayden, Jaxon, Aubree and a host of loving family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, May 29 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 at Fletcher Chapel Wesleyan Church officiated by Pastor Andy Stewart and Jeff Collins. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations are requested to be given in his memory to the Fletcher Chapel Wesleyan Church.
