Wayne Watts

Floyd “Wayne” Watts, age 72 of Laurinburg passed away Friday, November 15, 2019.

Wayne was born June 5, 1947 in Robeson County, a son of the late Floyd Watts and Eloise Taylor Watts. He retired from Railroad Friction working many years in Research and Development. His favorite pastimes were traveling to the Outer Banks, surf fishing, and he enjoyed all sports. Wayne loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and his puppy “Jeep.”

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Watts.

Wayne leaves behind his brothers, Terry Watts of Laurinburg, Richard Watts (Mary Bell) of Hamlet; nephews, Richie Watts, Jr. (Katlyn) of Dover, Delaware, Tyler Watts of Hamlet; nieces, Emma Watts of Hamlet and Buffy Lowery (Matt) of Wagram, along with many loving family and friends.   

 Burial was in Hillside Memorial Park.

We are losing to many to fast. I was a classmate with  Wayne  from the first grade in East Laurinburg thru the 12 th grade at LHS. Another sad day. This is one of the terrible things about this time in our lives.

That is the reason, LT, I suggested we meet in 2023 and not wait until '24. Some of us may not be able to visit next year. It is that time of life.
