Sandy James Creed, Sr., died Jan. 3, 1995 in Scotland Memorial Hospital.  He was a former supervisor for Redman Homes. Mr. Creed was a member of Ducks Unlimited and a former member of Maxton Jaycees. A memorial service was held in First Baptist Church, and burial was in Hillside Cemetery.

Mr. Creed was survived by his wife, Jean S. Creed; two sons, Sandy "Sy" Creed, Jr., and Clay Creed, both of Laurinburg; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Reynolds and Dana Wychoff, both of Laurinburg; his stepmother, Patricia C. Creed of Laurinburg; a brother, Dr. Don Creed of Elizabethtown; and a step-granddaughter.
