I am officially retired from education now after 39 years. I am loving not HAVING to get up early and go to work but with all those years in, I must admit I do miss it - maybe it is the friends that I have made and who are still there that I miss - ha
I am substituting some for a couple of elementary schools and middle schools here in Laurinburg just to keep involved but at least I get to choose when I want to do that. Having worked with high school students for 39 years, it is a little different but I am enjoying it.
In my spare time, I do what I want to do. But I am spending quite a bit of time keeping my grandchildren some after their school and on about every other weekend or as needed. I love those kids with all my heart but there is no way that I could keep them fulltime - now we know why old people cannot have children - ha
Being back in Laurinburg is nice but man I wish they could attract more places to eat other than fast food and get a little more shopping places but I guess that is not going to happen anytime soon.
Well that should do it for an update right now. I hope to hear from some of my classmates. I have gradually begun to run into a few of them around town and it is great to be able to sit down and talk with them some.
