Wilson McCall

Eugene Wilson McCall Jr., 69, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 13, 2017 at Church In The Pines in Laurel Hill, officiated by the Rev. Deck Guess. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Born September 2, 1947 in Marlboro County, SC, he was the son of the late Eugene Wilson and Kathryn Campbell McCall. He received a Bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University, a Master’s degree from East Carolina University and an Administrative Certification from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. His career spanned thirty-one years in education with him serving twenty-seven as an administrator.

His accomplishments include serving as former president of the Kiwanis, former ABC board member and also becoming a board member of the Scotland County Historic Properties and Scotland County Highland Games. Wilson was also a member of the NC St. Andrews Society. His most cherished time was with his family at Christmas and vacations. His hobbies included traveling and woodworking, and he had a lifelong passion for aviation and fulfilled his dream of having a pilot’s license.

He is survived by his wife Carol Horney McCall of the home; son, Andrew McCall and wife Shawna of Cumming, GA; daughter, Rachel McCall Parker and husband Ashley of Garner, NC; three grandsons, Colin McCall, Jackson Parker and Wilson Parker; granddaughter, Jillian McCall; one brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Tyra Sue McMillan.
A visitation will be 5-7pm Sunday, March 12, 2017 at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
