Richard Mestayer “Skeeter” Covington died at the age of 73, on October 9, 2020 in his home town of Laurinburg N.C. He was called Skeeter because when he was small his grandfather, T.T. Covington II, enjoyed his game of mimicking a Mosquito Hawk. He inherited the family good sense of humor and left behind many good friends. He was an avid huntsman and nature lover and his home's decor consisted mostly of deer and fish trophies. He loved the sport of baseball while attending Laurinburg High School.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas “Tom” Covington III, mother Genevieve “Ginny” Covington, a brother Thomas “Tommy” Covington IV, and a sister Judith Ann “Judy” Crawley.

He is survived by brothers, Harry Covington and Mitch Covington, sisters Ginger Bryant and Janet Powers.... AND his precious dog and best friend, Maggie.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
