Archie, thanks for the notice.  I don't know any way to contact Jack.  Really surprising that no one was aware of Jack's loss.

We had 9 men from our 1965 class to meet at Fullers in Pembroke today.  We all had a great time remembering our high school days, catching up with each other, and trying not to over stuff ourselves.   We hope to be able to meet together again in about 6 months and are looking forward to having more of our high school friends attend.  Larry Morgan  from  Bluffton SC, Bill Lee from Rock Hill, SC,  and James McQueen from N Myrtle Beach were the guys who drove the most miles to attend.  Thanks to Archie Paul, Ronnie Hulon and Richard Shepherd for getting the ball rolling 6 weeks ago .  Attnendees were, Archie, Larry, Mike Bullard, Mitchell Simmons, John Muse, James, Colin McArthur, Bill, and myself.   If you would send me your email address I will make sure you get  the details about our next get together.

Hello to all Classmates:

As Mike expressed earlier, we 9 classmates had a wonderful time!  Many thanks to Mike, Archie, Ronnie, and Richard for arranging this!!

Please allow me to express some thoughts/ideas to my fellow classmates:

As 75/76/77-yr olds, we are all experiencing the loss of not only our classmates, but many, many of our family/ friends along the journey until the present!  (Glenda and I lost a friend 3 days ago!!)

For those of us fortunate enough to be able to read this, I would like to take a POLL:

IF we could put together a VERY SIMPLE 59th Reunion in 2024, would you attend?  Though we have lost too many classmates, we are blessed to still be here.

There are still many memories/stories to be shared, and REALISTICALLY, this could be the opporunity for many classmates to say "hello...and goodbye"!!

I challenge EVERY classmate, no matter where you are, to say YES to one more HUG and KISS to your long-last friends.

Sorry, don't mean to be so dramatic, but every day now gives us a new appreciation!!!!

Your Classmate and Friend,

Larry

 Larry,
What a great idea! Just the other day I was thinking how nice it would be see fellow classmates again. My wife and I would definitely attend. Being so far away I just need sufficient lead time. If you get a good response just let me know what I can do to help out.
Don

You know I'll be there. Just a suggestion. Time is of the essence. Time is the thing some don't have so the earlier the better. I suggest later this year. I also suggest a weekend gathering since doctor appointments are mostly during the wek. We do have a place in Lbg were I think we could arrange to meet for lunch or dinner with advance notice.

Peggy Wyatt (Wallace)

I suggest that the date be set for summer or early fall rather than wait until November when holiday season is starting and many of us travel during that time to see family.  For those of us living at great distances, two major trips in the same time period are difficult.

Thanks all for the continued responses/feedback.  Archie, Peggy, I agree with your very good ideas.  Just want to be cognizant of the planning time needed for those coming from afar.  Keep the brainstorms flowing!! yes

Judith (Judy) Joseph (Andrews)

I would love to attend if possible.

Thank you, Janice!  We may accept your generous offer!!

Classmates, the suggestions to make the reunion THIS year, maybe mid-to-late September, seems to be gaining momentum.  I'm all for it if the classmates that would be flying in feel like that gives them sufficient planning time???  Let us know, please.

Thanks,

Larry

Reunion Alert!!!!!!!!

Hello Classmates:

Thank you so much for all your comments via classmate site/emails/texts. The consensus is "better sooner than later" (and I agree!), soooooo, let's reunite!!

SEPTEMBER 23, 2023, 5:00-8:00 PM........58th REUNION

Believe it or not, several venues in Laurinburg are booked for this date, so time is of the essence!  Acknowledging this, PLEASE follow these needed guidelines so that we can attain a venue (subject to the confirmations, which we hope will be OVERWHELMING!!)

PLEASE confirm (single or couple) your attendance by May 1st via classmate site,. email, or text.  My email is Larry.morgan1947@gmail.com, and my phone is (843)384-7985.

After confirmation, please send me a deposit of $50/single or $100/couple.  After establishing the number of confirmed attendees, and finalizing location/menu, I will notify everyone of additional $$$ due, or MORE OPTIMISTICALLY a refund amount!!

My mailing address:  71 Hampton Hall Blvd, Bluffton, SC 29910.

As promised, this will be VERY CASUAL!!  No frills.  For example:  Dress code is your choice....from bikini to tuxedo!!  blush

SERIOUSLY, this is our opportunity for many classmates to reunite for the first time in 58 years!!  It's a time for hugs, kisses, and reliving memories!!  We are the fortunate ones.

Hope to see EVERYONE in September!!!!!

Larry

PS  Sorry, when I refer to the pronoun "we", many thanks go out to the assistance from our classmates, Archie Paul, Colin McArthur, and Larry Horne.
