Judy Currie Everette, 65, of Laurinburg passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 after a 13 month battle with breast cancer.

She was born on July 6, 1947, daughter of the late William Pate and Mae Ackerman Currie. She was a dedicated teacher with the Robeson County School System in St. Pauls, retiring after 39 years of service. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister who will truly be missed.

Judy is survived by her daughter Diana E. Chavis of Laurinburg, twin brothers Freddy Currie and wife Nancy of Laurinburg and Teddy Currie of Laurinburg, her grandchildren Hunter and Taylor Chavis, and special friends Susie Epting and husband John Epting.

The family will receive friends from 6:05-8:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at Richard Boles Funeral Service. A private interment service will be held at a later date.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Judy to the American Cancer Society.
